Friday Snippet Meme
For a change of pace - and because as I read
through parts of Stone Spies it makes me shudder at how utterly crappy it is -
I've decided to post the opening scene from one of my WIP's,
SPORE.
So, anyway, this is how it
opens. It's short, VERY short.
:)

SPORE
Part
1 - Seeding
Chapter
1
Scene
1
Three naked people stumbled out of the corn onto
drenched grass. They were confused and disoriented, having no idea how they had
stepped from cornfield to a dandelion speckled lawn behind a tidy ranch-style
home, or even where they were. The morning sun rose behind them, pushing their
shadows toward the house, while faint mist rose from the corn and turned last
night's rain into July humidity. A low buzzing filled their ears, like static on
a weak radio channel, but it faded away leaving only the breeze and birdsong
behind.
One woman, the youngest,
hesitated then broke into a run for the
house.
